Many people say that going to the gym is the hard part of getting fit. I believe that getting the most from every workout is really the mountain most need to conquer. Heading to the gym doesn’t mean a thing if you’re skipping exercises, talking for too long to other gym goers, and doing each movement lethargically. These tips will give you the tools you need to get the most from your workout every time you step foot in the gym!
Always Know What You’re Going to Do Before You Go
If you walk into the gym with absolutely no idea of what you’re going to do beforehand, you’ll likely half ass your workout and then walk back out. Know exactly what you’re going to do before you go. You really have no excuse as there are so many cost effective programs and free tutorials online!
Eat Around 30 Minutes – 1 Hour Before
By eating like this before you go, you’ll have more strength to complete your workout, and your body won’t start eating away at your muscle. Make sure you have something light so you don’t end up throwing up, and make sure it includes carbs and protein.
Drink a Coffee or Take Pre Workout With You
Coffee is a natural stimulant, so it’s great for those who don’t want to take pre-workout. Finding a pre-workout that suits you can take a few tries. Take it with you and sip it through the workout to get a continuous buzz as you do your exercises.
Consider Other Supplements to Support Your Training
Certain supplements will be great for the type of training you’re doing, you just need to do your research. Blackstone Labs in Australia have plenty of helpful information on their site to help you start your search.
Listen to a Motivating Playlist
I can’t go to the gym without my music or my headphones. This helps to keep me pumped up through the entire workout and really beat some of my personal bests. I like to put my own playlist together of some of my favourite songs, or find ready made gym playlists on platforms like Spotify.
Have a Gym Buddy As Motivated as You or None at All
If you’re going to go to the gym with a buddy, they need to feel the same way you do. You can’t have them flaking on you, skipping sessions, or being negative in general. They need to encourage you as much as you do them. If you can’t find somebody like this, then it’s probably best not to go with anybody. Going alone is preferred by many gym goers anyway – you get your workouts done in record time and you have only yourself to worry about.
If you use these tips I guarantee you’ll start to see the results you want from your gym efforts. There’s no point in going to the gym if you aren’t going to give it your all. Make like ‘The Rock’ and ‘Focus!’.
