Diet Tips and Tricks to Get the Body You Crave

Many people think that exercise is the key to getting an amazing body. While exercise is an important part of getting that body you want, your diet is the most important thing to it. You can’t out train a bad diet! It’s probably 70% down to your diet, and 30% down to your exercise regime. But you should always put in 100% effort to see results! Let’s take a look at some diet tips that should help you to get that body you crave:

Don’t Keep Junk in the House

If you buy junk and keep it in the house, you’ll eat it. Don’t pretend you won’t. Even if you bought that junk for your kids, or especially for the weekend, it will call out to you until you eat when you aren’t supposed to. You’re not superhuman, and nobody could cope with temptation right there like that. Never keep junk in the house unless it’s your intention to eat it.

Don’t Deprive Yourself

If you feel as if you really want to eat something, try to ride out the craving for 10 minutes. That’s how long it should take to pass. Drink some water, do something to take your mind off the craving. However, if you still feel like you need it, have it. But don’t have too much of it. Want a biscuit? Have one biscuit (I would recommend throwing the rest away if you don’t trust yourself).

Have One Cheat Meal Per Week

Providing you’re good throughout the week, you can have one cheat meal per week to celebrate. This has a number of benefits. Not only will it encourage you to eat well again the next week, it’ll give your metabolism a little boost. This will keep it at the ultimate fat burning level!

Drink Lots of Water

You should drink at least 2 litres of water per day to help flush out toxins and fat. Carry a bottle with you wherever you go so you remember to drink. Drink more if you like. You can also add in black coffee and green tea, but avoid sugary, creamy drinks. Don’t drink your calories!

Eat Lots of Vegetables

Most vegetables are classed as super foods, so eat lots of them with each meal. They should take up about half your plate. Allow them to fill you up.

Keep Meals Clean

Keep your meals as clean as possible by using fresh ingredients to make them yourself. Avoid store bought meals at all cost, even if they are labelled ‘diet’, ‘weight watchers’, or a similar brand. There’s a reason they make you lose weight – they contain no nutritional value, lots of bad ingredients, and hardly any calories. This leaves you hungry! You can find plenty of appropriate diet recipes that you can make yourself.

Never Starve Yourself

Starving yourself is not the way to lose weight. It’s bad for you in a number of ways. First off, your metabolism will slow down. It’ll burn fat at a much slower rate, and you’ll struggle to lose any weight. You’ll also feel more likely to binge, as you’ve deprived yourself.
